The huge, "new deal" regarding Social Security

I bought this book to scan for the seventieth anniversary of Social Security (Aug. 14), however it came out ahead of expected. It's sensible to scan a social science book that is not packed with jargon or boring policy details. The author gets to the purpose, and he writes clearly--for an educational. The book is absolutely concise, because it covers nearly eight decades of history in but two hundred pages (w/o the notes). It additionally addresses broad problems, from the role of unions and business interests to Bush's Social Security agenda. however what i actually like is that this book isn't close to Social Security: it explains how yankee establishments work, how politicians and suppose tanks set the policy agenda, and even why the US does not have national health insurance! This book did not modification my life however it actually helped me to know why (and how) privatization is currently such a giant deal.
